- People with disabilities need to be able to easily access transportation and transportation networks
- Description
The project is a case study that analyzed US and Canadian public transportation policies to shed light on how disability is defined and represented, as well as identify existing strategies and gaps in the public transportation policies. Key findings include the problem with the variety of disability definition used in policies and the lack of attention to matters concerning social accessibility, for instance the training of bus drivers and other employees.. The findings have important implications for improving policies by making transport systems more equitable and inclusive.
