Description

This project aims to co-create three preventative tools to reduce the risk of fire deaths in private seniors’ residences and long-term care homes. This project will develop two alternative risk-free methods for teaching evacuation in an autonomous senior population living in private senior residences. The first method is a training program for seniors developed by seniors and the second is a videogame that simulates fire evacuation scenarios. Lastly the project will develop a guide for long term care centers in heritage buildings to reduce environmental obstacles to evacuation in those buildings.
