Understanding the Experiences of People with Disabilities Utilizing Taxi and Rideshare Services

This project aims to better understand the lived experiences of PWD who regularly use taxis and other rideshare services.

Description

People with disabilities (PWD) need access to a range of reliable and accessible transportation options. Furthermore, it is important that PWD have access to transportation that is free of social barriers. This project aims to understand the lived experiences of PWD who regularly use taxis and rideshare services. The goal is to better understand the experiences of people with disabilities in this setting to propose ways to increase social accessibility in the taxi/rideshare industry. Results from this study will be shared with CNIB, community partners and other relevant stakeholders in the taxi and rideshare industry. Additionally, we aim to create awareness about social accessibility within the transportation system and develop resources for discrepancy awareness training.
